Our Client was involved with the remediation and preparation of land for a housing development. The site, Abingdon Marina, was a former landfill site. The remediation involved excavating waste and exporting it to a nearby landfill site. The site was then levelled and backfilled with soil in preparation for house construction. 

Role of Robert Long Consultancy Limited

Robert Long Consultancy Limited was instructed to implement a soil sampling strategy. Regular visits were made to the site to sample the waste, the soil to be backfilled and the made ground. The samples were sent to a laboratory and were tested, in accordance with ICRCL Guidance Note 59/83. The results were reviewed and regularly submitted to the Environmental Health Officer throughout the sampling period.

Robert Long Consultancy Limited prepared a contamination review for the Environmental Health Officer which confirmed that the land site had been satisfactorily remediated.
