Role
of Robert Long Consultancy Limited
During spring 2000, Robert Long Consultancy Limited were commissioned by Surrey County Council to prepare and manage a contract to restore the Site.
The works carried out under the first phase included the establishment of a soil profile suitable for final landscaping, and the enlarging, deepening and reprofiling of an existing pond to create a nature conservation area.
The second phase of the restoration works include the final landscaping requirements. The overall objective of the works is to reinstate the landfill to pasture and meadow, to a landscape typical of the area.
Woodland and hedgerow planting will reduce the visual impact of the Site and create a field pattern which will fit in with the character of the surrounding landscape.
New planting will generally comprise native species which will integrate the Site into its surroundings and create a variety of wildlife habitats.
