Grounds Maintenance in the Borough of Spelthorne...

Parks, open spaces, play areas and sports pitches are important resources for local communities, and local authorities spend around £1 billion on maintaining these facilities each year.

RLCL has assisted a number of authorities in reviewing their grounds maintenance services.  Recently, we undertook an assessment of standards at Spelthorne in preparation for the re-tendering of its grounds maintenance contract, looking at public gardens, playing fields, cemeteries, bowling greens, playgrounds and parks.

We found a network of good quality sites providing real environmental enhancement to the suburban setting. This was followed by the production of contract documents and the evaluation of tenders.

As local authorities place increased emphasis on providing a pleasant, tidy and well-maintained environment for residents, more and more are turning to RLCL for help with Best Value reviews, service improvement and procurement advice.
