A Message from the Chairman...

This issue of our Annual Review brings you stories about some of the projects we have worked on over the last twelve months and news of developments in the company. 

In May we celebrated moving our Huddersfield, West Yorkshire branch to larger premises in the same town.  We marked the occasion by hosting an Open Day for clients, associates and suppliers.  We now occupy the first floor of Ellerslie House which was built in the nineteenth century as a mill owner’s family residence and is a fine example of Huddersfield’s excellent Victorian architecture. 

Elizabeth Simmons, based at Huddersfield, joined the Board in September.  Elizabeth joined the company in 2001 and specialises in planning, permitting and land remediation. 

In October, jointly with Clarks Solicitors, we held a well attended conference at the British Library.  This year’s topic was procurement for local authority services and our guest speaker was Joan Ruddock MP.

From January 2004, Ben Arnold has taken over from me the position of Managing Director.  I will continue as Chairman and as a fee earner working on a variety of clients’ projects.   Ben and I have worked together for a long time and I believe the company will thrive and prosper under his leadership.
