Robert Long Consultancy Limited is a specialist practice that provides advice on all aspects of waste management. We offer a nation-wide service from offices in Hampshire, Cambridgeshire and Yorkshire. An important, successful and rapidly expanding part of our business is helping local authorities with Best Value reviews, the development of waste strategies and the procurement of waste management and other environmental services.
We are looking for motivated staff to join our busy team to assist with existing projects and develop new contacts and clients throughout the country. Applicants should have a sound knowledge of Best Value and the procurement of environmental services gained through experience of working for local authorities, contractors or consultants for two to five years or more. We offer a negotiable and competitive package related to the level of skill and experience and the opportunity for career development and advancement. There is the opportunity to be based at any of our offices.

MSc in Hydrogeology or combined BSc in Hydrogeology with
Environmental or Earth science.
Minimum 3
years experience, preferably in a consultancy environment.
Hydrogeological Risk Assessment under Regulation 15 of the
Waste Management Licensing Regs 1994. Instigation and
interpretation of pump testing of groundwater. Investigation,
Risk Assessment and reporting of contaminated land sites. Use
of modelling and risk assessment software tools.
Knowledge of
contaminated land remediation
assessment and instigation,
hydrogeological assessment, modelling and specification of
engineering solutions. Contribution to Environmental Impact
Studies. Business Development. Due Diligence Studies, also
knowledge of de-watering operations for minerals extraction or
land re-development would be advantageous.

SENIOR LANDFILL DESIGN ENGINEERS
Lyndhurst / St Ives / Huddersfield |
|
|
Civil or geotechnical engineers with 2 - 5 years experience in landfill design and project management, client and Environment Agency liaison, landfill systems design, contract preparation and contract management (ICE and NEC). Planning Supervisor experience would be advantageous.

ENGINEERS

Civil or geotechnical engineer with a minimum of 3 years waste management experience including on-site CQA, together with landfill design, contract preparation, management and administration, preparation of CQA Plans and Specifications and preparation of CQA reports. Experience of drainage system design and slope stability modelling would be advantageous.

CQA
ENGINEERS

Engineer or geologist to be trained for, or having experience in on-site contract management, together with CQA supervision and materials testing. Must be able to work beyond normal office hours. A working knowledge of AutoCAD and slope stability modelling would be advantageous, but not
essential.
We expect a high level of communication and report writing skills, along with initiative and motivation. A driving licence is required for all positions. |
