Environmental Management
Systems
New legislation, consumer pressure and public interest make it necessary for companies and organisations to be aware of their environmental responsibilities. This can be achieved through the implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS).
The benefits of an EMS include:-
-
increased awareness of environmental legislation resulting in a reduced risk of
non-compliance and liabilities;
-
improved relations with regulators, such as the Environment Agency or local authority, through the adoption of a more systematic and professional approach to environmental protection;
-
improved relations with stakeholders;
-
cost savings, for example through increased efficiency or reductions in waste production; and
-
improved company image.
We can offer assistance in the selection of the most suitable EMS for a company or organisation and its preparation and implementation. We can also assist companies or organisations which do not require a full EMS but may wish to undertake an environmental review. This looks at the current environmental performance of the company, including issues such as waste, use of raw materials and energy consumption and identifies how performance can be improved.
We can
provide you with the advice and assistance you need, whether you are
interested in developing a successful EMS or simply undertaking a review
of your environmental performance. For
an informal discussion or for further information please contact Ben
Arnold at our Lyndhurst head
